Cookie Policy
Version 2.3· Last updated: 2 June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Nathan O'Connor ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit my website at nathanoconnor.co.uk (the "Service").
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit my website. They help us provide you with a better experience by remembering your preferences and understanding how you use our site.
Cookie Consent Management
I use CookieYes (a Google-certified Consent Management Platform) to manage your cookie preferences and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. You can update your cookie preferences at any time using the “Manage cookies” link in the footer or by contacting us.
Types of Cookies I Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function properly and cannot be disabled.
CookieYes consent cookies (cky-*)
Stores your cookie consent choices so you don’t see the banner on every visit. Set by CookieYes.
Duration: 1 year
Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with my website by collecting and reporting information anonymously.
Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager
Used to analyze website traffic and user behavior to improve my services.
Duration: Up to 2 years
Marketing Cookies
These cookies are used to track visitors across websites to display relevant advertisements, and to authorise the sharing of hashed contact details with advertising platforms for conversion measurement and matching.
Advertising and Remarketing
Used to show you relevant ads based on your interests and browsing behavior.
Duration: Varies, typically up to 2 years
Hashed Contact Data for Enhanced Conversions
When you submit a form on this site and you have accepted the Advertising category, a one-way SHA-256 hash of your name and email is included in the conversion event sent to advertising platforms (such as Google Ads and Meta) for “enhanced conversions” / “Conversions API” matching. Raw personal data is never shared — only the cryptographic hash. If you decline the Advertising category, no hashed contact data is included in the event at any point.
Not a stored cookie — the hash is sent in real time at form submission. The advertising platform’s own cookies, where set, follow the durations listed above.
First-Party Attribution Cookies (Digify)
I use first-party cookies to record campaign attribution data — which channel, source, and campaign brought you here — so I can understand what marketing is working. These cookies are not strictly necessary and are only set if you accept the Analytics or Advertising category in the consent banner. If you decline both, none of these cookies are written, and if you later withdraw consent, any existing values are deleted.
_digify_session / _digify_sid
Short-lived session identifiers used to group your page views into a single visit for attribution purposes. Only set if you have accepted Analytics or Advertising in the consent banner.
Duration: Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity
_digify
Stores non-personal attribution touches (referrer, UTM parameters, click IDs such as gclid/fbclid, pages viewed during the visit). Only set if you have accepted Analytics or Advertising in the consent banner.
Duration: Up to 1 year. Deleted if you withdraw both Analytics and Advertising consent.
Privacy Note:Any identifiers in these cookies are randomly generated — no name, email, or phone number is stored. Click IDs (gclid, fbclid, etc.) originate from the ad platform that referred you and are forwarded only if you accept Advertising or Analytics.
Voice Assistant
This site offers an optional voice assistant powered by ElevenLabs. It is off by default: it does not track you, sets no advertising or analytics cookies, and does not access your microphone until you explicitly click to start a conversation and grant your browser’s microphone permission. While a conversation is active, your speech is streamed to ElevenLabs to generate the assistant’s replies, and the ElevenLabs component may use your browser’s local storage to manage the live session. No account is required. For the lawful basis and how this audio is handled and retained, see the Privacy Policy and the named entry on /sub-processors.
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
- Use our cookie consent banner when you first visit my website
- Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies
- Use browser extensions that block tracking cookies
- Contact us directly to discuss your preferences
Please note that blocking certain cookies may impact your experience on my website and limit some functionality.
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on my website are set by third-party services. We do not control these cookies, and you should check the relevant third party's website for more information about their cookies and how to manage them.
Updates to This Policy
I may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
